Looking Back at the Lexicon of Resistance

March 30, 2009: By Gilad Atzmon

Lexicon of Resistance

The following is an attempt to present my own personal dictionary of what seems to be the most charged terminology and concepts attached to the Palestinian solidarity and anti-war discourse.

Palestine– a piece of land on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. For many years Palestine was the home of the Palestinian people: Muslims, Christians and Jews who lived in peace and harmony for hundred of years. In the late 19th century, in the light of emerging European nationalism, a few Jews had decided that Jews should not be left out. They then invented the notions of: “Jewish people”, “Jewish history” and “Jewish nationalism”.  They decided to settle the majority of world Jewry in Palestine. Throughout the years the Jewish national project, i.e., Zionism, had become more and more sinister and ruthless. In 1949 70% of the indigenous Palestinian population had already been ethnically cleansed. Nowadays the majority of Palestinians are living behind barbed wire in a state of terror guarded by Israeli soldiers.

Jews– the people who happen to identify themselves as Jews. Jews are not a race, they do not follow a single belief system either. I made myself a rule. I categorically refrain from dealing with “the Jews” as a collective or an ethnic group. Instead I restrict myself to criticism of Jewish politics, Jewish ideology and Jewish identity.

Judaism– one of the many religions practiced by the Jewish people (Jews for Jesus, Jews For Buddha, Jews For Allah and so on). Though Judaism contains some non-ethical aspects and teachings, the one and only peace-seeking collective amongst the Jewish people is actually a religious orthodox sect, namely Torah Jews. This fact is enough to make me very careful when criticising Judaism as a religion. When dealing with Judaism, I would restrict myself to criticism of interpretations of Talmudic racism and the biblically orientated Zionist genocidal plunder of Palestine.

Jewishness– Jewish ideology, the interpretations of the meaning of being a Jew by those who regard themselves as Jews. Jewishness is the core of Jewish identity, it is a dynamic notion. It is hard to pin down.  While refraining from criticising Jews (the people) and Judaism (the religion), elaborating on Jewishness is a must, especially considering the crimes committed by the Jewish state in the name of Jewish people. As long as the Jewish state is shelling civilians with white phosphorous, it is our ethical duty to question: Who are the Jews? What does Judaism stand for? What is Jewishness all about?

Palestine vs Israel– Palestine is a country, Israel is a state.

Palestinians– currently the longest lasting sufferers of racist colonial abuse and state terrorism. Palestinians are the only true indigenous inhabitants of Palestine.  4,300,000 Palestinian refugees are scattered in the Middle East.  There are Palestinians who managed to hold onto their land yet are denied equal civil rights, others live under military occupation.  The Palestinian cause is largely the ethically grounded demand of the Palestinian people to return to their own land. The land that belongs to them and to them alone. The Palestinian cause is the demand to dismantle the Jewish state and to form a State of its Citizens instead.

Zionism– the national colonial practical interpretation of Jewish ideology.  It asserts that Jews are entitled to a national home in Zion (Palestine) at the expense of the Palestinian people. Zionism is a colonial racist philosophy that practices genocidal tactics. It is a biblically orientated precept. Although Zionism portrayed itself initially as a secular movement, from the very beginning it transformed the Bible from a religious text into a land registry.

Israel– the Jewish state is a racist political concept. It is a place where Jewish supremacy is celebrated in an institutional manner.  Israel is a place where 94% of the population supports dropping white phosphorus on innocent civilians. Israel is the place where Jews can pour their vengeance on the Goyim.

Palestinian resistance– the exercise of the ethical right to resist an invader, an ethnic cleanser and a racist.

Demographic bomb– Israel possesses many bombs, cluster bombs, petrol bombs, atomic bombs, WMD bombs, etc. The Palestinians have only one bomb, the demographic bomb. The Palestinians are the majority of the people between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. This fact itself defines the temporal quality of the Idea of Jewish state in Palestine.

Zionism vs Jewishness– it is difficult or maybe even impossible to determine where Zionism stops and Jewishness begins. Zionism and Jewishness establish a continuum. As it seems, Zionism has become the symbolic identifier of the contemporary Jew. Every Jew is identified by himself and others in reference to the Zionist compass (Zionist, anti-Zionist, oblivious to Zionism, love Zionism but hate Israel, love Israel but hate falafel and so on).

Secular Judaism and Jewish Secular Fundamentalism– secularity has been a very popular precept amongst Jews in the last two centuries. The Jewish form of secularity is very similar to rabbinical Judaism. It is fundamentally monotheistic, it believes in one truth (God is dead until further notice). It is supremacist, it is extremely intolerant of others in general and Muslims in particular, it even promotes wars in the name of enlightenment, liberalism, democracy and even in the name of the victims to come.

Pre-Traumatic Stress Disorder– the kind of mental state that leads 94% of the Israeli population to support air raids against civilians.  Within the condition of the Pre-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Pre-TSD), the stress is the outcome of a phantasmic event, an imaginary episode set in the future; an event that has never taken place. Within Pre-TSD, an illusion pre-empts reality and the condition in which the fantasy of terror is itself becoming grave reality. If it is taken to extremes, even an agenda of total war against the rest of the world is not an unthinkable reaction. Unlike the case of paranoia, wherein the sufferer is subject to his own symptoms, in the case of Pre-TSD the sufferer actually celebrates his symptoms while others are left with the role of the audience or even victim. The sufferers of Pre-TSD within the press and media lobby for global conflict. Once they are in power they just spread death around. They manage to see a threat in almost anything. The Pre-TSD sufferer would call to flatten Iran, he would defend the IDF military campaign in Gaza for his own existential fears. The Pre-TSD sufferer is rather predictable and for one reason or other always to be found in the non-ethical cause.

Jihad– the struggle to improve one’s self and society. Jihad is the attempt to reach a harmony between the self and the world. It is there to bridge the gap between self loving, loving self and the love towards others. Jihad is the answer to chosenness.

Holocaust– an overwhelmingly devastating chapter in recent Jewish past. It would be difficult to imagine the formation of the Jewish state without the effect of the holocaust. Yet, it is impossible to deny the fact that Palestinians ended up paying the ultimate price for crimes that were committed against the Jews by other people (Europeans). Hence, it would make sense to argue that if Europeans feel guilty about the Holocaust, they better take extra care of its last victims, i.e., the Palestinians.

It must be mentioned that due to some legislation that restricts the scrutiny of the holocaust in an open academic manner, the holocaust is no longer treated as an historical chapter.  Instead it is regarded by many scholars as a religious narrative (namely, Holocaust Religion). Those who do not obey the religion or follow its restrictions are chased, excluded and jailed. The failure to maintain the holocaust as a vivid historic chapter turned Jewish history into a Pandora’s box sealed by prohibitions, legal restrictions and different forms of threats. In an ideal “free world”, we would be able to look into the holocaust, to regard it as an historical chapter and to draw some lessons out of it.  That would mean also questioning its meaning. In an ideal (free) world, we may as well be allowed to wonder how come, time after time, Jews ended up despised and detested by their neighbours. In an ideal (free) world Jews may have a chance to learn from their mistakes in the past. For the time being, as long as we want to keep free, we better avoid questioning the past.

The Meaning of the Holocaust– the Holocaust provides the Jews and others with two obvious lessons. One is universal and almost simplistic, it says: “NO to racism”. As some Jewish intellectuals predicted after the war, Jews were supposed to lead the fight against racism. Seemingly, it didn’t happen. Not only did it fail to happen, but the Jewish state had become the ultimate form of racist practice. Three years after the liberation of Auschwitz the newly formed Jewish state brutally ethnically cleansed the vast majority of indigenous Palestinians. As time goes by, the Jewish state doesn’t try to disguise its racist agenda, i.e., Jews only state.

The second lesson that can be drawn out of the holocaust is far less abstract, it is actually very pragmatic. It suggests to Jews “to be aware of their deed”. It suggests to Jews “to act ethically, or at least to pretend to do so”.  Seemingly, this lesson is totally ignored. In the Jewish state young IDF soldiers wear T-shirts depicting pregnant Palestinian women caught in the crosshairs of a rifle, with the disturbing caption “1 shot 2 kills”.  In the Jewish state, civilians had been caught picnicking watching their army dropping unconventional weapons on their Palestinian neighbours. The Israeli reality and the forceful Jewish lobbying around the world portray a complete dismissal of any ethical judgment or moral conduct. Whether it is the genocidal practice against the Palestinian people or the lobbying for more and more global conflicts. If the meaning of the holocaust would have been internalised, different appearances of such inhuman behaviour would have been addressed and tackled.

However, within the prohibition to re-visit our history we may still be entitled to reflect over Nazi brutality towards Jews in the light of the Jewish state’s crimes in Palestine. Seemingly, there is no legislation that prohibits us from doing that as yet.

Hamas– political party that was elected in 2006 by the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. Since then Israel has withheld payments owed to Gaza, causing the Palestinian economy to collapse. It has blockaded Gaza for months, starving the civilian population. And yet, Hamas proved once again that the Palestinian people are resilient. In spite of Israel’s genocidal tactics, in spite of the IDF targeting children, women and the elderly, Hamas’ popularity increases by the day and more so especially after the last Gaza conflict. It has now become clear that Israel does not possess the means of combating Islamic resistance. In other words. Israel’s days are numbered.

Gatekeepers– for many years the Palestinian solidarity discourse had been shattered by those who claimed to know what is right and what is wrong.  They also claimed to know what should be discussed and what subject must be dropped. Initially, gatekeepers tried to recruit the Palestinian movement to fight antisemitism. Another bizarre agenda was to use the Palestinian people as another Guinea pig in a dogmatic socialist exercise.

Due to the growing success of Palestinian and Islamic resistance, the power of Gatekeepers is now reduced to none. Though gatekeeping operators still insist upon exercising their powers, their influence is totally restricted to primarily Jewish cells.

Antisemites– in the old days, antisemites were those who didn’t like Jews, nowadays, antisemites are those the Jews don’t like. Considering the growing chasm between the Jewish state and its lobbies and the rest of humanity, we have good reason to believe that before not too long, the entirety of humanity will be denounced as antisemitic by one Jewish lobby or another.

Antisemitism– a misleading signifier. Though it refers largely to anti-Jewish feelings, it gives the impression that these feelings are racially motivated or orientated. It must be clear that Jews are not a race and do not establish a racial continuum. Thus, no one hates the Jews for their race or their racial identity.

Bearing in mind Israeli crimes and Jewish lobbying around the world, anti-Jewish feeling should be realised as a political, ideological and ethical reaction. It is a response to a criminal state and its institutional support amongst world Jewry. Though resentment to Zionism, Israel and Jewish lobbying is rather rational, the failure to distinguish between the “Jew”, and Zionism is indeed very problematic and dangerous especially considering the fact that many Jews have nothing to do with the Zionist crime. However, due to the extensive Jewish institutional support of Israel, it is far from easy to determine where the “Jew” ends and the Zionist starts. In fact, there is no such demarcation line or spot of transition. The outcome is clear, Jews are implicated collectively by the crimes of their national project. One obvious solution for the Jew is to oppose Zionism as an individual, another option is to oppose Zionism in the name of the Torah, it is also possible for the Jew to shun the tribal ideologist in himself.

Self loving– the belief that something about oneself is categorically and fundamentally right, moral and unique. This is the secular interpretation of being chosen.

Self Hatred– the belief that something about oneself is categorically and fundamentally wrong, immoral and ordinary. This state of being may also be a point of departure of a spiritual ethical quest.

Chicken Soup– is what is left once you strip Jewish identity of Judaism, racism, chauvinism, White Phosphorous, supremacy, cluster bombs, secularity, Zionism, Israel, intolerance, Nuclear reactor in Dimona, cosmopolitanism, genocidal tendency, etc. The Jew can always revert to chicken soup, the iconic symbolic identifier of Jewish cultural affiliation. The Jew is always more than welcome to say: “I am not religious nor am I a Zionist, I am not a banker, nor is my name Madoff. I am not a “Labour friend of Israel” nor I am a Lord or look like a cash machine.  I am just a little innocent Jew because my mama’le used to feed me with chicken soup when I was slightly unwell.”  Let’s face it once and for all, chicken soup is not that dangerous (unless you are a chicken). My grandmother taught me that it was very healthy. In fact I tried it once in winter 1978, I had the flu then. It helped, I feel better now.

June 14, 2010: American Jews Challenge Zionism

Can 1% Stop The Global Criminal Syndicate?

By Gordon Duff

Can 1% Stop The Global Criminal Syndicate?

Can a real globalism based on truth and honor save the world?

I was asked during an interview on Al Jazeera the question that every Muslim lives with every day, “How can a small country like Israel control America.” My answer was simple. Imagine a friend comes to you screaming, “Someone stole my house!” You ask him what happened. His response; “I put my house up for sale, I asked $200,000 dollars. A man came to the door and said he wanted my house. He gave me $200,000 bucks and now I have no home.”

Israel doesn’t buy influence and control in America, we sold it to them. The price tags were there, had been there forever. Anyway, there isn’t such a thing as Israel. Yes, it is a country, like America but we don’t exist either, not really, we never did. Our Civil War proved this. A country is like a company with a flag, a company that doesn’t have to pay its workers, can even jail or kill them if it wants to. Real countries today are owned by stockholders, we call them banks, who hire managers who work for them.

We call this “government.”

This should explain why the two American political parties act the way they do. They really don’t exist. American history classes are filled with fun days and boring days. During the boring days, the teacher talks about monetary policies and banking. In 1791, Alexander Hamilton set up the Central Bank of the United States. It was controlled by England, our enemy, at least on the surface but was run by the Rothschilds. Jefferson saw that such a bank would turn America into a criminal empire. Jefferson favored “democracy” and Hamilton favored “conservatism” as expressed in “Federalism.”

There is a clear difference between these two. Federalism has always been based on elimination of personal liberties. A Federalist nation is a dictatorship of the wealthy where individual enterprise is squashed by syndicates and monopolies tied to the banks and the foreign owners of the banking system. Theoretically, a Federalist or Conservative government is one under foreign control through a central bank that funds a series of syndicates or monopolies that rule through government.

The idea of political parties and the Constitutional oddity of the “electoral college” and a Supreme Court that could overrule laws wanted by the people was how this foreign rule was to be implemented. The “rubber stamp” for this system was the Senate, a group chosen, not elected, until well into the 20th century. With vote restricted to larger land owners and successful merchants and political parties managed by the banks through control of capital, government had only one duty, protecting the owners and securing a ruling class.

During that same class that we all slept through, someone mentioned a Second Bank started in 1811. President Andrew Jackson hated this bank because he believed as so many do now, that “debt based currency” which we know as, well, what we carry in our pockets is nothing but a game that encourages economic manipulation and crashes that end up putting all wealth in the hands of speculators. You know what they are, Goldman Sachs/Wall Street types. Jackson took all government money out of the bank, fired two Secretaries of the Treasury to do it and fought back while our British and Rothschild masters tried to economically crush America in retaliation.

These are the reasons Presidents like Jefferson and Jackson were great men, reasons we don’t teach anymore. Even then, America was duped, milked for all it was worth by foreign groups that found the price tag that so many of our “better classes” were born with. If you wanted to find where they teach Americans to sell out, look to Harvard and Yale.

The final nail in America’s coffin was the establishment of the Federal Reserve in 1913 by Woodrow Wilson. The history books fail us totally when explaining “national banks” and “state banks” and money for planting season. We slip into a century of ignorance ending with today’s America with half the taxes we collect going to pay interest on money that never existed in the first place and all but 3% of the population ending up with nothing at all. 80% of the “Reagan millionaires” still around have a negative net worth. 40% of American home owners owe more than their homes are worth and wages and our standard of living has plummeted since 2000.

What have we become? We have spent ourselves into a century of poverty developing weapons and fighting wars for multi-national corporations, bankster thieves and massive international drug cartels that control the governments of every “free country” on earth from England to Israel to India to Germany and, especially, the United States of America.

Criminal States

Stealing a term from Jeff Gates, the systematic manipulation and control of nation after nation by sinister interests that are very real, interests hidden behind mythology, be it fictions of religion, stories of imaginary national struggles against non-existent evil or the rallying cry of “us against them” patriotism or, as has become popular of late, incessant fear mongering and hate, all begins through the destruction of human reason.

The focus has gone to Israel above all other nations for a couple of reasons:

* Israel, through a network of “assets” and powerful individuals placed in key positions over generations has virtual control over the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Poland and Russia. It has increasing influence over China and India. The dedication and achievement here has been brilliant but the end result may bode poorly for humanity.

* Israel itself is hardly a home for Jews or has anything to do with religion. It is a “state of convenience” much like Andorra or the Cayman Islands where you can get good coffee or find nice beaches but the underlying purpose is a safe haven, a nation operating totally outside all international law that can never answer for anything it does because of its influence in the US and their military power and veto in the United Nations Security Council. Israel has broken every imaginable law, sold WMDs to dictators, spied on friends, so much more, assassinations, massive financial crimes and nothing is ever done. Some would call it brilliant. Some would call it depraved. Few call it anything because Israeli interests control almost all media and pop culture in the world.

Honest words about Islam

Thinking of “Islam” as a billion people all behind a single idea is insane. Muslims hate each other more than they hate Christians and Jews. Arabs, Pakistanis or Indonesians have little or nothing in common but religion and are extremely unlikely to ever band together for anything at all. In fact, Islam, like every other religion, has been used to control and exploit. Filled with tenets of sharing and charity, there are so many wonderful things within Islam as with other religions. Islam developed in a pre-feudal culture and, as is easily shown by Saudi Arabia and has massive failings if it is relied on as an impetus for good government. The problem is, this message is droned into Americans and other westerners 24 hours a day without balance or fairness. Look at Pakistan. It is run by 5 families. It has extremely rich and extremely poor. It has nuclear weapons, wonderful engineers and scholars and horrible poverty. Yet, next door is India, a country that spends its life telling of corruption in Pakistan. India is run by 40 families. It has extremely rich and extremely poor, in fact so many extremely poor people that the numbers are almost unimaginable. It has nuclear weapons, wonderful engineers and scholars and horrible poverty.

The vision we have of Islam as a threat isn’t real, it is a product of the Cold War when the US and Russia played childish games with the world over failed political systems, poorly designed communism and “pretend capitalism” run by banksters, oil companies and totally corrupt political parties. Horribly corrupt states aligned with America, often operating with brutal oppression as with Iran. No matter how vicious the dictator, he was considered a heroic defender of freedom if he took American money. Any state that aligned with Russia was considered a “rogue state” and enemy. Many states, like Iraq and Egypt went both ways, became “rogue states” and later became “democracy loving allies.” How did Saddam move from “democracy loving ally” to “brutal dictator?” With Russia gone and Israel wanting to crush any powerful rivals in the Middle East, it was simple. The real history, the secrets your grandchildren may be privileged to read will tell the story of how Saddam was pushed into invading Kuwait, told by America it was ‘OK” and then, eventually crushed. When George Herbert Walker Bush refused to finish the job, he was thrown out of office. When Clinton refused to finish the job, he was impeached. When Al Gore couldn’t be trusted to finish the job, his presidency was overturned in a rigged election and an outrageous and illegal Supreme Court 5/4 decision. When “little Bush” took over, dry drunk, addict, sociopath and weakling, America fell totally to Israel.

Holocaust Games

Between 50 and a hundred million people died in World War II. The real causes of the war are always lied about. Those who win wars enjoy lying about them later and hanging the losers as “war criminals.” A key component of the war was Hitler’s hatred for the Jews and his idea that Jews could no longer be allowed to live in Germany or “Greater Germany,” which could have meant anything. Was this belief insane?

Of course it was. Anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism had been blended into a racist monstrosity that attracted a powerful following among very diverse groups all over the world. Wealthy and powerful “conservatives” hated Jews as “foreigners” or “dirty” and Christians used hatred of Jews as a way of advancing religious dogma. An undercurrent of financial elitists, the Bush family, Rockefellers, Henry Ford along with Britain’s aristocracy and many others saw Zionism as a threat to civilization.

They believed the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a publication of immense controversy, outlined a plan by world Zionists to push America and Europe into a series of wars ending up with massive debt, economic collapse and eventual rule by a banking cabal controlled by Jews. Whether the Protocols were real or a forgery, world financial systems that have guided us for well over a century of our history have been controlled by Jewish banking organizations, groups that, however, in no way reflect the values or aspirations of Jewish people. Not knowing this was Hitler’s insanity.

Hitler blamed the Jews for creating communism and for working with the British and French governments to misuse certain codicils of the Treaty of Versailles to loot Germany’s banking system. To Hitler, communism was a Jewish creation and the failed war one that Jews had somehow manipulated Britain and France into forcing on Germany. A strong case can be made for this analysis but factors of German character and nationalism also play a significant part.

Jews were a vital part of Germany, making up a good portion of her armed forces in WW1. Even in WW2, 150,000 Jews served in the Wehrmacht. With the founding of the State of Israel, the tradition of Jews defending the nations of their birth has become unpopular.

When examining the holocaust, it is only fair to include Russian civilians as the single largest group of sufferers by far but also, Gypsies, and even British civilians exposed to Germany bombing must also be mentioned. Discussions over “how many” or “gas chambers or disease” are, or should be meaningless except for one vital issue. Israel uses continual references to the holocaust to justify acts not dissimilar that it has engaged in that have, directly or indirectly, led to the deaths of well over a million, Palestinians, Iraqis, Lebanese and others. There would have been no Iraq war without the manipulations of Israel and her friends in America, in America but working against America.

A strong case for a holocaust against Palestinians that support deaths of up to 500,000, 300,000 of whom may have been murdered in massive ethnic cleansing in the late 1940s is, not only supportable but not the root of our current Middle Eastern tensions. This holocaust occurred while Israel was telling the world they were under continual attack from massed Arab armies, a cover story that was a total fiction, a fiction depicted in the Paul Newman film, Exodus. As Jeff Gates states, “Israel has a talent for story telling, supplanting truth with beliefs.”

Thus, little or nothing of what 90% of Americans, everyday people, scholars and even political leaders believe is true. Much of it is totally false, utterly without any basis in reality whatsoever. People who are conditioned to accept lies unquestioningly are slaves.

The Jewish Victims of Israel

It doesn’t take a genius to trick a Jew into supporting something insane. If a Jew in America reads that Arab armies, armies we know simply don’t exist, are waiting to invade and start a new holocaust, he will give money, even send his children to train with the IDF. This same person sends money to the ACLU and may have marched next to Martin Luther King. How does a person know how to do what is right when they are lied to?

Christians are the same way. How easy was it to twist millions who mean well into forces for totalitarianism, nuclear destruction and genocide simply by selling the heretical absurdities of rapture and the “end times.” The innate desire for human beings to have hope, believe they can survive the blackness of inevitable and permanent death and yet, while alive, be a part of a complex mythology far more science fiction than Christianity.

If you can sell someone one outrageous lie, you can sell another. Once people believe that eternal life is tied to supporting a corrupt Middle Eastern government involved in a massive genocide, you can convince them of anything. Imagine telling a person working in a Walmart, subject to firing at any second, one paycheck from living under a bridge that a government effort to provide reliable medical care for their children, children who haven’t been to a dentist for years, that “socialism” is going to over throw America’s “free market system.”

Anyone could and many have convinced people who believe any of these things to kill kids in Gaza, torture and rape innocent kidnap victims in secret prisons or worse and we have done so much worse than this.

We start by convincing decent people, through systematic psychological warfare waged through pop culture, TV news, radio propagandists and religious phonies that up is down and black is white. After conditioning all reason and reliance on rationality and fact away, constant droning of “fear this” and “fear that” leads to “hate this” and “hate that” and we have reverted a human into something less, much less than an animal. Are the people we see as enemies really our friends and the people we see as friends really our enemies? Does a human being know the moment they wake up a monster? If you are immune to brutal crimes committed in your name, whether tons of drugs shipped out of Afghanistan or hispanic disabled veterans being hounded by police in Arizona, you have become a monster.

At least we don’t have to worry about Palestinians and Gaza. Every American with a television or radio has, for generations, been continually told that Palestinians were murderous animals that deserved to be killed, even at birth. Every time you see this in a film or TV show, wait for the credits. Check the names. When you hear it on the radio, see who pays the bills. You won’t be surprised, we have always known all along.

Defining a beginning

Everyone isn’t supposed to be an economist or really know the difference between a Fascist or a Federalist. Frankly the differences are so subtle it doesn’t matter anyway. There are some things that can be accepted and built from. Every list starts somewhere, and the basic aspects of what is and is not real is our biggest stumbling block.

* Nearly 7 decades ago, Eleanor Roosevelt pushed the United Nations, an organization crippled by security council veto power, to accept a declaration of universal human rights. Since that time, aggressive war, human trafficking, economic exploitation along with ethnic, racial and religious violence have moved the world backward instead of forward. Until we define a human being with rights free from mitigation because of race, religion or any other imaginable reason, and are willing to use every resource at our command to enforce such human rights, we are a failed species.

* Until we are willing to accept that the predominant western culture that defines our planet is instilled at its root with a bias toward spreading poverty and debt for the purpose of centralizing control of the world’s assets, be they human labor, oil, minerals or intellectual achievement, we will never understand the nature of our collective decline and our shared fate.

* Until we are ready to accept that the global drive to the accumulation of power through debt, a power dependent on chaos, on war, on corruption at every level, is the primary impetus for the vast majority of the world’s governments and super-governmental institutions that control wealth and resources, human history will remain in freefall.

* Until we are ready to criminalize systematic disinformation campaigns disseminated through centralized control of the worlds mass media, campaigns designed to disenfranchise the “so called” democratic west, we will exist in little more than Kafkaesque slavery.

The One Percent

In a world of “think tanks” and “position papers,” of universities devoid of academic freedom and endless political espousements from rodeo clown hate-mongering propagandists, those who “get it” may only be 1%. They won’t be the richest, the most righteous nor are they likely to be famous. They will define courage, sacrifice and honor because these are terms they would never use, not for themselves or others. Those who know all war to be economic and all “news” to be lies are of the 1%.

A “one percenter” asks where the $65 billion in heroin profits from Afghanistan went. A “one percenter” asks why $275 billion in pentagon fraud is discovered but swept under the rug a day later. A “one percenter” watches planes crash into the twin towers and may think terrorism but then watches Building 7 mysteriously flow into the ground, “pulled” somehow magically at a moment’s notice and knows a game is afoot. A “one percenter” will immediately turn on the TV, wait for the pre-scripted harangues to begin and predict the road to totalitarianism at home, war abroad and the eventual economic “pump and dump” collapse everything was staged to bring about.

When a “one percenter” hears the word “patriot” or sees a flag or bible, he cringes, knowing a scoundrel is afoot. If a new world is built, it is the one percent that will do it.

About Anti-Semitism

By Nahida

About Anti-Semitism

This letter was my response to a Jewish friend (supporter of Palestine), who got upset upon hearing severe criticism, disdain and sarcasm against “Israel” and “Israelis”

He felt that people as they criticise “Israel” should not forget the “humanity” of “Israelis”, he also felt that this was a typical behaviour of anti Semitism which caused him to feel angry and frightened

About anti Semitism

Talking about anti-Semitism, and the accusation of anti-Semitism, is to many people a very sensitive issue, nevertheless, I feel the need to highlight some points:

As a Palestinian and as a Muslim, with first hand experience of racism, whether here in UK or in occupied Palestine, I do understand what it means to be subjugated to it; thus, I deeply empathise with those who suffer from the menace of racism and discrimination, those who are abused verbally, physically, emotionally, or otherwise for no other reason than the fact that they are “different”

And I also do understand the awful feeling and dreadful sensation of being subjugated to subtle racist looks or remarks, only felt by you and not the people around you

However, I do see a huge difference between a racist remark directed at a person or a group for their beliefs, race, or whatever that which makes them different, and between a snarl, a sneer or sarcasm against an occupying criminal entity called “Israel” and its people, for their CRIMES

One must not fail to distinguish between the rage and fury caused by watching helplessly for decades the grim unstoppable crimes go unpunished year after year, and the racist blind hatred that might still exist among a tiny minority who, by nature, would be hating anything and anyone who is different anyway

Furthermore, this occupying entity called “Israel” (a word that I myself detest to even pronounce and generally avoid to use) is not a theoretical being, nor does it operate in a vacuum; it’s neither an abstract concept nor a conjectural void

It’s an entity run by PEOPLE

PEOPLE who make decisions,

PEOPLE who elect politicians

PEOPLE who ALL serve in a barbaric army

PEOPLE who foster racist beliefs, attitudes and actions

PEOPLE who invaded others’ land, dispossessed them, and forcibly occupied it

PEOPLE who imprison children and shoot babies hearts

PEOPLE who destroy world heritage

PEOPLE who steal water, land, sea and sky

PEOPLE who kill hope, life, beauty and smiles

PEOPLE who build their colonies on the blood and ruins of another people

It is an entity of PEOPLE, 94% of whom voted for the attack on Gaza

It is an entity of PEOPLE, 71% of whom want U.S. to strike Iran

It is an entity of PEOPLE who violated and assaulted ALL neighbouring countries

It is an entity of PEOPLE who live on a STOLEN land for over six decades, with no signs of shame, remorse, awakening of conscience, or willingness to neither admit nor right the wrongs they’ve committed

Every normal person with some compassion, would make a grimace of disgust and revulsion when hearing about such an entity or such a people who commit such despicable horrors

Now, I find it difficult to be persuaded that such a reaction to such horrific crimes -when hearing the name “Israel” or “Israeli”- is an act of racism (anti-Semitism)

On another note; we – Palestinians- do not have any responsibility whatsoever for the crime of the holocaust, nor do we carry the burden of European racism against Jewish people

Furthermore, I do not see a difference between any kind of racism including racism directed against Jewish people known as anti-Semitism. If we accept racism against Jewish people as being different, then it implies that we accept the racist absurdity of “Jewish exceptionalism”. Racism is racism, many causes same consequences

Thus, I do not see the suffering of Jewish people (horrible as it was) as a unique kind of suffering which must be revered and viewed as essentially and fundamentally different from other human suffering; the same way that I do not see our suffering as Palestinians as unique or different from any other

Questions come pounding:

Why is it that we – Palestinians- are constantly reminded of the horrors of the holocaust, when we had nothing to do with it?

Why is it that we Palestinians, are to suffer the same fate as the victims of the holocaust by the hands of those who brag worldwide to act for “never again”?

Why would the UN want to enforce the study of the history of our oppressors and occupiers -holocaust- upon our children who are languishing in refugee camps – who themselves along with their parents, and grandparents were victims of ethnic cleansing, planned and executed by those whom they are supposed to feel sympathy with?

Why is it that we are persistently bogged down by the fixation on anti-Semitism, while for sixty years (a century rather), we are the ones who are relentlessly suffering from a most vile evil racism (ethnic cleansing gradually becoming a form of “final solution”) perpetrated by a whole population of racist zionists?

(with all honesty, I must tell you that some times I imagine it would’ve been easier and less painful to us to be gassed and killed immediately rather than this policy of excruciating slow death that we have been going through for over a century)

How could the world keep asking us to recognise the “humanity” of a settler, who comes with his wife and children armed to his teeth, and at gun point evicts a Palestinian family, throws their entire belongings out, and moves in?

What kind of “humanity” is this?

And most importantly, why is it that we are continuously been asked to feel compassion towards our tormenters who relentlessly murder and humiliate us, who attempt to annihilate us and our history and why, to what purpose, are we asked to feel their “humanity”, while their knife still piercing deep in our hearts?

Finally, I cannot speak on behalf of all the Palestinians, but as for myself, I must admit, the recent assault on Gaza was the last straw that broke the camel’s back; before that, I used to think that there is hope, those PEOPLE would wake up to their “humanity” one day, and regret the evil that they’ve done, unfortunately, the more I see of them, the more I realise that this hope and dream was an illusion

Over the past few years, I have been reading and debating with many of those “soft” zionists in the so called “peace camps”, all I found is an extremely arrogant groups of people, who are incapable of recognising, admitting, or willing to rectify the crimes they’ve done.

They are only interested in “peace” to protect their interests and to further secure their grip hold on the stolen land

Moreover, very recently, and by sheer accident, I stumbled upon some honorific information that reveals the severity of decay of morality and lack of humanity amongst those RACIST zionists – whose ideological bigotry and chauvinism surpasses all other- that left me in a state of shock for days; crying, shaking, suffocating with palpitations and suffering from severe panic attacks.

Undoubtedly, the world community should leave it to the victims to decide how to deal with those criminals in the future. Only the victims can investigate the fragile alleys of forgiveness or punishment. The victims should have the last say irrespective of what their judgment might be, they should not be vilified, indicted or moralized with, for they have suffered more than enough

The emergence of forgiveness and reconciliation requires certain conditions:

1) Stopping the crime
2) Admitting of guilt
3) Asking for pardon
4) And rectifying the wrong

None of these conditions are ever considered as an option amongst that mighty sick racist zionist society

As for me, I have no authority to talk in the name of all Palestinians, but I can state with all honesty, I DO NOT wish the zionist murderers, those of whom were directly or indirectly involved in massacres, theft of land, subjugation and oppression, to remain in Palestine after its liberation from the occupier. – except of course for the very few good people amongst them, as no soul should carry the liability of another- I do not wish the invader, occupier and criminal racists to stay in Palestine, the land that they incessantly raped, destroyed and disfigured, nor do I desire them to be my neighbours

They have shown no respect, no appreciation, and no love to this land or to her people

They do not deserve to live there

But these are only my own feelings, and I know that the decision is not mine.

More on anti Semitism

There are some more points that I would like to draw attention to:

1. “Israel” calls itself a Jewish state, and claims to be acting for all Jewish people, by Jewish people. It is still enjoying the moral and financial support of the majority of Jewish communities world wide. The absence of a huge uproar of denunciation and disassociation by the majority of world Jewry, makes it hard for people not to blame zionist Jews who live outside occupied Palestine for their guilt of complicity, active alliance or passive complacency by either silence or aiding and sustaining the criminals

2. “Israel” still enjoys the protection of the “Security Council” with its US vetoes on any UN resolution sanctioning “Israel’s” endless list of ongoing crimes and infractions of international law, and the “Israeli” criminals still roam with impunity, free from prosecution by any jurisdiction . This intolerable situation inevitably foments further rage and fury against the double standard and special treatment granted to the “Jewish” state

3. The excessive use of the term “anti Semitism”:

a) by zionist Jews, accusing all non zionist

b) by soft zionists Jews, accusing anti zionists Jews

c) by anti zionists Jews, accusing fellow anti zionists Jews and also non Jews of anti-Semitism as soon as they dare to examine Judaism with critical eye, criticising some aspects of it, some beliefs, attitudes or behaviours

All this has participated in creating a sense of repression of freedom of expression, and undoubtedly also a sense of being subjected to what feels like intimidation and thought control

It has also diluted the meaning of the word Anti-Semitism, making it practically devoid of any signification. It is now used ad nauseam, ad absurdum, reduced to a simple rhetorical trick, slapped in the face of anything and anyone, as soon as there is the slightest inspection of facts. The word has lost its effectiveness to expose a form of racism, I am afraid. The more we hear it used inappropriately, the more indifference its further future usage will raise. Worse, it may even -God forbid- contribute to a form of blow-back …the story of the boy who cried wolf is only too familiar

So, a sincere advice from a heart that cares, to all my Jewish friends who are really interested in preventing the re-emergence of real “anti Semitism”, and to those “Israelis” with some humanity left; I would say:

1. Instead of wasting time searching for the “humanity” within “Israeli” criminals, focus your energy on fighting and revealing “Israeli” crimes and exposing its inhumanity

2. Disassociate your selves completely from such an entity and proclaim this annulment loud and clear

3. Let go of the idea that anti Semitism is a “special” case of racism; treat all racism with the same degree of unambiguous condemnation

4. Try to look at the situation from the standpoint of non Jewish people, who will not accept or understand the insistence on the uniqueness of the Jewish suffering, whereas the world has seen since the end of WW2 the massacres of millions and millions of non Jews. The world is now inflamed by hatred against Muslims, not against Jews.

5. With love in my heart, with sincere and pure feelings, I would appeal to you to look inwards and search for reasons, as to why you feel that the world should accept racism against you as somehow worse or different, and as to why you feel that your suffering is unique and unlike others’ , because this is not how the world sees it. All suffering has the same value to those who go through it, and all racism has the same consequences and must be ostracized with the same ferociousness

6. Those of us who are involved in the support of Palestinian cause are inevitably going to be accused of anti Semitism, that does not make us in any shape or form anti-Semites, for we know very well that we are not; hence, false labels, and bogus allegations should not frighten or deter us, distract us or hinder our determination of doing what we think is right

7. And finally, please, do not freak out when people point out to certain aspects of Judaism and the Jewish culture that they might not like or find incompatible with humanity, equality, or fairness, after all assessment and criticism have always been accepted by other religions, belief-systems and cultures, and this is what freedom of thought and freedom of speech are all about, people have the right to look at different ideologies, scrutinize them, criticise them and sieve out what appears to be hindering the human moral development, as long as all this is done in a non offensive manner, without slander or abuse, but rather in a respectful, academic, genuine and good-intentional search for truth

PS:

I know that what I have said might appear too strong, unfamiliar, or painful to hear, but I can only speak of what’s in my heart, as I believe that only through openness and honesty that trust can be built

We have a saying in Arabic; “sadeequka man sadaqak, wassaddaqak”

صديقك من صدَقك و صدّقك
“Your true friend is that who is honest with you and who believes you”

Arabic word for honesty: sidq

And for friend: sadeeq

Both friend and honesty share the same root: sa-da-qa= told the truth

My love as always

Symbolic Identifiers and Jewish Stereotypes

April 18, 2010: By Gilad Atzmon

Symbolic Identifiers and Jewish Stereotypes

Jews are usually proud to define themselves as Jews. Some Jews may, for instance, proudly carry the Jewish banner (Jews for Peace, Jews for Justice, Jews for Jesus and so on) as if they believe that the ‘J’ word contains special righteous attributions. However, they also will be gravely offended if they are called a ‘Jew’ by others. Suggesting to a Jew that “he is a Jew” or “behaves like a Jew” can be regarded as a serious ‘racist’ offence.

It is linguistically noticeable that the symbolic identifier ‘Jew’ or ‘Jewish’ operates as both noun and as an adjective. As much as the term points to a ‘thing’ it is also descriptive. However, I assume that symbolic identifiers associated with ideological and identity politics tend to function in a dual grammatical mode. The words ‘feminist’, ‘socialist’, ‘Nazi’ and ‘white supremacist’ can point to a human subject but they can also be descriptive. I guess, for instance, that a feminist who proudly carries the feminist flag may also accept that being called ‘a feminist’ will also assign some particular characteristics and ideological beliefs.

Crucially, we also accept that being a feminist, a socialist, a Nazi or a white supremacist are matters of political choice. People are not born feminists or as socialists. They adopt those ideologies or identities later in life.

From this perspective the ‘Jew’ signifier or symbolic identifier is slightly different for the Jews who are born into a collective identity.

Almost like any case of biologically determined conditions such as ‘women’, ‘men’ or ‘blacks’, some people are born Jews However, here we are clearly setting ourselves into an interesting twist. First, European Jews can easily disappear into a white Western crowd by means of assimilation and integration and leave their Jewish identity behind, where as black people and women have to live their life accepting and enjoying who they are.

Second, the duality between the noun and the adjective in the case of ‘black’ and ‘women’ is not necessarily realised as a gulf. Neither black people nor women are offended being called ‘black’ or ‘women’.

To a certain extent the manner in which ‘Jew’ as a signifier, operates within the discourse may be similar to the case of the ‘gay’ symbolic identifier. While many gays are also offended when being labeled as ‘gays’ by others. In different cases of identity and marginal politics we can notice a parallel and simultaneous tendency to ‘own’ and ‘disown’, a clear inclination to ‘identify’ with a collective yet a refusal to be ‘identified’ as such by others.

In multicultural reality we tend to believe that this contradictory mode of behavior is something to do with the usage and misusage of stereotypes.

A stereotype is commonly defined as a public or common belief about specific social groups, or types of individuals. It is often a product of an essentialist generalization by the means of induction: it involves a nonscientific assumption about the properties of a class of subjects based on an accumulation of observations or anecdotal encounters which become reinforced with time and repetition.

The concept of ‘stereotype’ is often confused with the notion of ‘prejudice’. Rather often we notice that a stereotype attached to ethnicity, class or any group are a means of performing an opinion, usually an unfavorable one, based on insufficient knowledge and irrational feelings.

On the face of it, it would seem as if Jews are over sensitive to the ‘racial’ discriminatory implication of the ‘J’ word. However most Jews are not that concerned when being associated collectively with some great minds, adorable violin players or conductors. In short to safely apply the ‘Jew’ category, you just have to make sure you say the right things. No one will ever cause you any trouble for mentioning Albert Einstein in reference to Jewish intelligence or even bringing up Anne Frank as an exemplary motif of Jewish innocence but you may get into some serious trouble once you mention the following list of real and fictional characters: Bernie Madoff, Fagin, Wolfowitz, Lord Levy, Shylock, Alan Greenspan, Netanyahu and Nathan Rothschild without even identifying them as Jews.

All of the above depicts a very obscure, yet far from surprising picture. As it seems, Jews, largely do not mind stereotypes or collective categories. They do not mind racial generalizations and essentialist stigmas as long as they are positive.

Fagin Vs Anne Frank

It occurred to me recently that by juxtaposing Jewish stereotypes (those Jews seem to hate versus those Jewish ethnic campaigners try to promote) may throw some crucial light over issues to do with Jewish collective identity. It would also suggest to us how Jews might see themselves and even more importantly, it may also help us to grasp how they prefer to be seen.

It is rather obvious that some Jews are rather unhappy with Charles Dickens’ Fagin and Shakespeare’s Shylock who they regard as ‘anti Semitic’.

I get the impression that the prominent Zionist enthusiast and London Barrister Anthony Julius would like to see these cultural iconic characters diminished from popular discourse. On the other hand, the British Holocaust Education Trust (HET) already managed to plant Anne Frank within the British curriculum.

It doesn’t take a genius to gather why Julius and others are concerned with Fagin or Shylock. Fagin is the ultimate plunderer, a child exploiter and usurer. Shylock is the blood-thirsty merchant. With Fagin and Shylock in mind Israeli barbarism and organ trafficking seem to be just other events in an endless hellish continuum. However, it is also obvious why the HET is so thrilled by Anne Frank. On the face of it, and for obvious reasons, Frank is there to convey an image of innocence. And indeed not a single moral system could ever justify the ordeal this young girl went through along with many others.

Yet, Anne Frank wasn’t exactly a literary genius. Her diary is not a valuable piece of literature. She wasn’t an exceptionally clever either. She was in fact a very ordinary girl and this is exactly her power within the post WWII Western cultural discourse. She was just an innocent average girl. In fact, the attempt to make Anne Frank into a cultural hero may be a genuine reflection of the Zionist inclination towards sameness. Frank mirrors the desperate Zionist attempt to prove to the world that ‘we the Jews’ are people like other people. Moreover, the success of Anne Frank’s Diary is there to suggest the West’s willingness to accept Jews as people amongst peoples.

Yet, once again, the Jewish discourse is caught in a limbo. Jewish people can never achieve their task. They can never be like ‘other people’ for no other people aim to be like other people. In fact, those who demand to be seen as equal must feel inherently and categorically different. Once again we face a repetition of the Jewish identity’s collective unresolved chasm between ‘who one claims to be’ and ‘what one happens to be.’

In his latest book Trials of The Diaspora, Anthony Julius renews his attack on those whom he labels as ‘anti Semites’ for being anti Zionists. The problem with anti Zionism, says Julius, is that “it denies the Jews the right that it upholds for other comparable people, it adheres to the right of self determination except in the Jews’ case…. It affirms international law. Except in Israel’s case. It regards Jewish nationalism (i.e. Zionism) as uniquely pernicious, rather than merely another nationalism” (Trials of The Diaspora, Anthony Julius pg Xl, Oxford University Press). The cry for legitimacy and sameness in Julius’ text is pretty embarrassing, especially due to the fact that the Jewish ‘right of self determination’ is celebrated at the expense of someone else (the Palestinians). Zionism is uniquely pernicious at least for being devastatingly sinister to the indigenous population of the holy land. It is apparent in Julius’ text that the London barrister somehow prefers to evade engaging with the notion or the meaning of ethical thinking.

For Hasbara (propaganda) to win a debate and for Julius to win his argument, Jews have to prove that they are truly the same rather than demand to be seen as similar. Surely Julius must know that winning a moral argument is very different from winning a court case.

Presumably Julius is familiar enough with Kant’s ‘categorical imperative’ that suggests that to behave ethically is to ‘act in such a way that the maxim of one’s actions can be willed as a universal law’. Julius may fail to grasp that ethnically cleansing the vast majority of the Palestinian population cannot be ‘willed as a universal law’. Locking millions in concentration camps such as Gaza is not exactly a maxim of profound ethical standing. Dropping white phosphorous on people hiding in a UN shelter doesn’t make the Jewish state look like every other state. In fact, it doesn’t make Jews look like other people either. Watching Jewish lobbies around the world push for a war against Iran doesn’t make Jews look like ordinary people. And this is something that even Anne Frank cannot change.

As much as Julius and others would like to remove some crucial stereotypes from our collective cultural discourse, they can actually expect the complete opposite. Fagin and Shylock are now more popular than ever before. Devastatingly enough, it is Fagin and Shylock who shed light over the Jewish state and its lobbies around the world. Fagin is neither alone nor is he an isolated fictional episode. The list of Zionist crimes is emerging so rapidly that it is almost impossible for us to keep up.

I am reluctant to suggest to Julius that his attempt is in vain. The world out there is turning rapidly against Israel, Jewish nationalism and Jewish supremacy. Removing Fagin, Shylock and TS Eliot won’t stop the word ‘Jew’ from being an adjective and a negative descriptive emblem. For that to change, or for Jews to be genuinely respected, self-reflection is of the essence. Instead of pointing out what is so wrong with the Goyim, Jews may want to consider looking in the mirror. I tried it once many years ago. I have never recovered. It transformed me into a profound self-hater.

Zionism: Captured by the Horns of the Torah

Zionism: Captured by the Horns of the Torah

Across the stolen land of the Americas, the landscape is dotted with museums, in many cities all depicting the same holocaust that occurred in Auschwitz, Germany where millions of people from several different countries were slaughtered. I have no idea how many museums there are, probably hundreds by now. There is one in Los Angeles, and I know there is one in the Tampa Bay area near where I reside. I felt it necessary to discuss this topic because it is deceiving, and what is being taught about its history.

I was watching PBS late last night on the 13th of April and they had a special on they were promoting entitled, “Swimming in Auschitz”, a story about several women who had avoided the gas chambers, and the first one in the story had claimed to the idea of being a Zionist in defense of her stance in joining others in their settlements in Palestine.

This documentary is often shown to promote the museums across the land of greed, and one could say it describes a phenomenon between the “hostage”, that being most of the people living in the knowledgeable void including those who are oppressed happen to live, and the sympathetic demeanor that is instituted on the behalf of one particular group of settlers that just happens to be the captor, or the ones who have stolen land through illegal settlements and expansions, similar to the Americas.

Jon Kean, the director of “Swimming in Auschwitz” wrote an article in the Jewish Journal, “Have We Hit Holocaust Fatigue“, and one may sense the poignant contrariness of the title as though we were talking about whether or not Ayn Rand’s printing of Atlas Shrugged had finally seen its day. Obviously, one knows that Kean’s documentary needs sales in his eye, but this contributes to the misdirection of the fact about captor and hostage, and at the same time institutes Zionism as a legitimate stance principally based on the phenomenon itself.

One could easily argue that planet Earth is suffering a world-wide holocaust in poverty, and environmentally. Nearly 100,000 people die every year just listening to the pharmaceutical companies in believing that the pills they take can actually help them and no cure of any disease has ever occurred in history. One could not say this for herbal remedies as they have succeeded over and over for centuries. Why do you think the drug barons want to classify herbs as drugs? The answer is the same phenomenon where the captor is seeking sympathy through propaganda.

Millions died in Iraq and we left the country contaminated with depleted uranium because in the land of greed there were two problems that needed sympathy. One was how do we get rid of the toxins we have created, and another, how do we increase the strength of our weaponry with this demon power. The captor and the hostage have merged in this scenario and its marriage represents a clear violation of international law, just another sympathy in the chasm.

These messianic confabulations now infest our brain waves, even PBS, and the propagation of a single story that is causing fatigue, reaching, it seems, is more ironic. The truer goal of Zionism is one of sympathy, albeit in the Stockholm syndrome fashion. The journalist Khalid Amayreh, in an article written earlier this year describes how the second horn of the bull reveals a bloody veiled avatar for reality; the justification of apathy.

The second but undeclared goal behind this holocaust religion is to justify Zionism, a racist ideology that eventually bred a gigantic crime against humanity called Israel. In the final analysis, Israel embodies an evil desire to annihilate the Palestinian people and steal their ancestral homeland. And when the Palestinians cry out for justice and humanity, we see and hear the dogs of Zionism shout “holocaust, Auschwitz , Hitler!!”

Last year, the Israeli army and air force rained death on Gaza for three uninterrupted weeks. Warplanes dropped bombs on unprotected civilians throughout the small enclave. Heavy artillery bombarded homes, schools, hospitals, mosques and public buildings, creating a massive carnage. White Phosphoric fire storms raged over Gaza, incinerating numerous civilians. People fleeing for their lives and carrying white flags were systematically gunned down by Israeli army snipers. This happened as army rabbis were encouraging soldiers to murder men, women and children because this is the way to endear themselves to God.!!

There is no doubt that the massive killings and pornographic destruction in Gaza last year was a genocidal act comparable to what was happening during the holocaust. The world shouldn’t raise its eyebrows when such comparisons are made.

After all, the attempted annihilation of European Jewry didn’t begin with Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen. It started much earlier with comparatively innocuous things in the early 1930s. In 1938 there was the Kirstallnacht, a pre-taste of genocide that the Palestinian people have been and are experiencing at the hands of the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the holocaust.

In short, the holocaust started with very much the type of things Israel is doing to the Palestinians these days. The unmitigated attempted killing and starving of Gaza are merely an epitome of a larger picture which shows the systematic Nazi-like savagery and brutality to which most Palestinians are being subjected.

Things are certainly amiss as we scamper off to learn all about Zionism in the local petri dishes of history. Can the claim to Zionism be sacred when it results in the perpetuation of death and destruction on a massive scale? Where are the weapons of mass destruction when they are used to kill millions all for the purpose of dumping them in your backyard? We didn’t find any in Iraq, hell, we’re in the phosphorous distribution business. Ask anyone about it, and its the same captor-hostage denial.

According to Douglas Reed, the diaspora was a mix and we know we are dealing with a segment of religious self-homoeroticism that had the notion that the beckonings of the past, the mean and almighty god which now infests Christianity was master mining the reasoning for invading another country, that being Palestine, and setting up camp, not to mention they were not necessarily the majority of people that were part of any movement out of the vestiges of Western Europe and the genocidal warring of those times.

Contrary to the teachings of Jesus, the Zionist picked up “eternal damnation” as their ploy from the past. My mom calls me every week and I keep explaining to her that condemnation has clouded her circuits as she is a devout Baptist. Unfortunately, she suffered from a stroke the year after my dad died in 2002, about 10 months after 9/11. I often wonder what my dad thought of the scandal. He spent most of his life shooting up for the allergies he possessed from farming genetically modified food. I can remember the day we had our own seed cleaner.

The seeds of time have become corrupt, and Douglas Reed in his treatise “The Controversy of Zion” (read review) attempts to weed out the problems associated with Zionism, and there are still gapping holes in the history coming out of the Torah, but one thing we should know, good and evil can be distinguished, and the matter of damnation will fall on those who seek sympathy as a way to avoid empathetic resolution and the identification with those who continuously are oppressed throughout time and in all places of Earth, not just a particular holocaust that is promoted as apathetic homogenized propaganda.

The holocaust was nefarious not because many of the victims were Jewish. (millions of non-Jews were killed during the WWII). It was diabolical because innocent human beings were killed unjustly. The horrendous killings wouldn’t have been less evil had the victims been non-Jewish and their number a few million less.

The world must make every conceivable effort to prevent the recurrence of genocides and massacres and destructive wars. And one of the key ways to do that is to prevent Israel from using the holocaust to bully the world to keep silent in the face of Israel’s genocidal crimes against the Palestinians. Khalid Amayreh

Weiss: Holocaust Survivor – Why I Support Palestinian Rights

By Suzanne Weiss

Weiss: Holocaust Survivor – Why I Support Palestinian Rights

In Canada, Holocaust Memorial Day has been established by Heritage Canada to be on April 11. It is a good opportunity to review what we learn from the Holocaust experience and how we apply these lessons to the troubled situation in the Middle East.

This year, students in more than 60 cities took part in educational meetings on conditions in Palestine as part of Israeli Apartheid Week, held March 1–7. It is a controversial event, not popular in Canadian government circles. It is criticized for supposedly dishonouring the victims of Hitler’s holocaust.

I am a survivor of the Jewish Holocaust, the Nazis’ mass murder of Europe’s Jews. The tragic experience of my family and community under Hitler makes me alert to the suffering of other peoples denied their human rights today – including the Palestinians.

True, Hitler’s Holocaust was unique. The Palestinians are victims of ethnic cleansing and apartheid. Hitler started with that, but went on to extermination. In my family’s city in Poland, Piotrkow, 99% of the Jews perished.

Yet for me, the Israeli government’s actions toward the Palestinians awaken horrific memories of my family’s experiences under Hitlerism: the inhuman walls, the check points, the daily humiliations, killings, diseases, the systematic deprivation. There’s no escaping the fact that Israel has occupied the entire country of Palestine, and taken most of the land, while the Palestinians have been expelled, walled off, and deprived of human rights and human dignity.

Many levels of government have recently been attacking the movement against Israeli apartheid, saying that it is anti-Jewish in character. This is bizarre. When Nelson Mandela opposed South African apartheid, was this anti-White? No, Mandela proposed that all South Africans, Whites included, join on a basis of democracy and equality in freeing the country from racial oppression. And that is precisely the proposal that the movement against Israeli apartheid makes to all inhabitants of Israel/Palestine.

We are told that Israeli Jews will never accept such a democratic solution. Why? Is there something wrong with their genes or their culture? The very notion is absurd – in fact, its logic is anti-Jewish. Opposition to Israeli apartheid is based on hope – a hope founded on the common humanity of the region’s Jewish and Palestinian inhabitants.

Hope from Holocaust Resistance

My family and their community in Piotrkow, Poland, suffered a hard fate under Hitler. The Nazis forced the city’s 25,000 Jews into the first ghetto in occupied Poland. The resistance movement in the ghetto was unable to link up with resistance outside. Only a couple of hundred Piotrkow Jews escaped death.

But my mother and father then lived in Paris. They were active in the ‘Union des Juifs,’ a Jewish resistance organization closely linked to socialist parties and other anti-Nazi groups. When the Nazis started rounding up Jews in France, the Union des Juifs hid thousands of Jewish children among anti-Nazis across the country. My parents were killed. But a brave peasant family in Auvergne, at great risk, took me in and hid me. And that is why I am here today.

The Nazis were routed, and the resistance dealt blows to racism that are felt in France even to this day.

There is a lesson here for us today. Hitler seemed all-powerful at the time. But he could not crush the resistance, a broad people’s alliance embracing many religions and many political viewpoints.

We need that kind of alliance in resisting oppression today – including the oppression of the Palestinians.

Jewish Values Are Not Those of Israel’s Apartheid

The United Nations has defined apartheid as “inhuman acts committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them.”

The apartheid concept was found in North America when indigenous peoples were confined to reservations in remote corners of the lands stolen from them. The South African Dutch settlers and Israeli government further developed the concept.

Eliminating Israeli apartheid involves three simple measures:

The right of exiled Palestinians to return to their country.

An end to Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.

The right of Palestinians within Israel to full equality.

On July 9, 2005, 170 Palestinian civil society organizations called for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against the institutions of Israeli apartheid. The BDS movement helped to end the crime of South African apartheid. Since 2005, the BDS movement against Israeli apartheid movement has won wide support around the world.

Nelson Mandela, the great leader of BDS against South African Apartheid, said, that justice for the Palestinians is “the greatest moral issue of the age.”

Support from Jewish Community

I recently discovered that my name is included in a website list of “7,000 self-hating Jews.” Why are Jewish supporters of Palestine labeled as “self-hating”? Because those who make this charge have redefined Judaism in terms of the present policies and character of the Israeli state. They see Judaism as nothing more than a rationale for oppressing Palestinians. What an insult to Jewish religion and culture!

As for the 7,000 self-haters, they need to add a couple of zeros to that total. In my experience, support of Palestine is stronger in the Jewish population than in society as a whole. And Jewish people work alongside their Palestinian brothers and sisters as a strong component of the Palestine solidarity movement.

Holocaust Awareness Week is an appropriate time to review our proud history as Jewish universalists, welcoming and encompassing humanity. We, as Jewish supporters of the Palestinians, stand on the finest traditions of Judaism, its great contributions to human religion, philosophy, science, and solidarity through the ages. The rights we expect for the Jewish people, we demand for all humanity – above all, for the Palestinians that the Israeli government oppresses in our name.
